"Blessed are those who wash their
robes, that they may have the right to the tree
of life and may go thro ugh the gates into the city."
Which job we have, which house we live in, none of this matters for us to go to heaven.
The heavenly kingdom-our destination
We are just staying here for a little while. We can see what heaven is like in the Bible. It is completely different from earth.
There are no high rugged mountains, no desert or wilderness.
The prophet Isaiah expressed the beauty of heaven like this, "The desert and the parched land will be glad the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy"(Isaiah 35:1, 2).
It will be filled with beautiful flowers instead of dry desert or wildness. Grass and trees in heaven must be green reflecting the light of heaven. Beautiful flowers in heaven don't wither or dry up and they will make us happy with their deep fragrance and pure color.
Mountains in heaven won’t be steep or covered with snow. There will be lots of flowers like lilies or roses. All kinds of fruit trees will grow. And fruit trees will bear so many fruits the branches will bend. We will be able to eat the sweet and big fruits.
Appearance of animals
There are a lot of animals in heaven and many of them are same we have here on earth. But the only difference is that they are all meek and gentle. Isaiah said, "The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand into the viper's nest"(Isaiah 11:6-8).
Today, what happen to the little lamb in a den of lions?
Yes, it is certain that the lion devour the lamb. It is impossible to put a leopard and young goat together, lions and young calves, bears and heifers in this world. The strong ones devour the weak ones. But these animals shall sleep and graze together in heaven. A lion that eats straw! What a funny thought! A poisonous snake will not bite children. How wonderful it is that all the big animals, birds and children can play all together! Heaven will be full of the glory of God as it was in the Garden of Eden.
The state of human beings
In heaven, there will be no sick people, no blind person, and no cripple man. Everyone will have perfect body.
Today, we have many handicapped people. Some of them are crippled due to a traffic accident and others by an illness.
And how many people are dying even now? Millions are dead, and millions are wounded. When our close friends die, what sorrow we feel! We can't express our great sadness when our father or mother passes away. We are overwhelmed with the separation.
But there will never be such things in heaven. "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away"(Revelation 1:3, 4).
The world without death and sorrow and sickness, God will wipe away every tear from our eyes if we enter the heavenly kingdom. How wonderful! In heaven where Jesus is, there is only happiness. There will be no more death, or disasters, or affliction, or pain.
We don't need to worry about our future or money to live. And we won't get sick, hurt or crippled. There will be no war, no fights and no broken relationship between friends.
Our bodies will become complete and beautiful. No glasses or hearing aids will be needed.
And we will sing a beautiful song of our redemption that not even the angels can sing. There is no song more beautiful than this. It is incredible, isn't it? But our God created this entire world in only six days.
Could anything be impossible for God? When we believe in Jesus and go to the heaven, we will be reborn in this utopia.
The city of God
"It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like jasper, clear as crystal. It had a great, high wall with twelve gates and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west...He measured its wall and it was 144 cubits thick, by man's measurement, which the angel was using. The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, and pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass"(Revelation 21:11-21).
It is a real magnificent city, isn't it? The great street is covered with gold. How brilliantly it shines! We cannot imagine the city that is built with jewels?of gold and pearls. "The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there"(Revelation 21:23, 25).
"The moon will shine like the sun, and the sunlight will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven full days, when the Lord binds up the bruises of his people and heals the wounds he inflicted"(Isaiah 30:26).
"Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations"(Revelation 22:1, 2).
There will be a river life in the middle of the city of God. How clean it will be! There will be a tree of life on either side of the river. We will eat the fruits and live eternally.
You want to eat the fruits of the tree of life, don't you?
"The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads"(Revelation 22:3, 4).
We will be able to worship Jesus and God everyday. Don't you want to meet Jesus who died on the cross for you? Don't you want to hear the word of Jesus directly? All these things will be accomplished when we get to the heaven.
What a great privilege we have! Our mansions are prepared in heaven and we can live in them soon. It is too wonderful to imagine. He said, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"(1 Corinthians 2:9).
Let's go to our destination
However great a house we have, it is meaningless. Because it's only a temporary place and our eternal house is in heaven.
We are traveling toward our eternal home now. Jesus is our guide.
We should have a clean mind to live in heaven. If not, we cannot enter the heavenly kingdom. Because even a small sin, won't be permitted to enter the city of God. We must conquer our sins and keep our mind clean until we can enter the heavenly kingdom. We can do that only with the power of Jesus.
Let's depend on Jesus everyday. If we do so, no matter how hard our environment might be; our minds can approach the kingdom step by step. When we behold Jesus' face, we can live pure, clean lives. Please make up your mind to follow Jesus before you finish this study.
Please determine to behold Jesus and let him live in you every day. Please review all truth you have studied until now. I think that you must have found the unforgettable treasures in these lessons. Please don't forget them.
You have found the wonderful treasures that your unbelieving friends don't have. Don't you want to share these treasures with your friends?
Please give this "With Jesus" booklet to your friends. Please tell the story of Jesus to your friends. All of Jesus' disciples had this same desire. You want Jesus to come again soon, don't you? Jesus will come on the clouds when we finish preaching his gospel.
When Jesus comes again, I hope to meet all of you studying the "With Jesus" with great joy in heaven.
Then, farewell everyone.
